About the Artist
“While based in the reality of everyday life, my work should not be defined as classic realism, re-creation of objective reality, or traditional portraiture.”
Human features and characteristics form the foundational elements of each piece. Interpretation, emphasis, intensity, and the materials and processes themselves are employed to convey emotion and meaning. Sculpted in clay, cast in plaster, and finished with a patina of pigment and wax, the work pays homage to ordinary people and to the dignity and importance of their lives.
